Conversation with the World: Eatonville

Closes August 29, 2009

Conversation with the World: Eatonville profiles the photographic expertise of artist and guest curator Lonnie Graham as he captures the history and essence of Eatonville and its residents through his photography. The Town of Eatonville serves as the ideal setting for Graham’s exhibit, as it holds the distinction of being the nation’s oldest incorporated African American municipality.

This exhibit showcases Graham’s most recent conversations with the residents of the historic Eatonville community, featuring individuals from all walks of life and from a broad range of ages.

This exhibit profiles the photographic expertise of Lonnie Graham (who is also serving as the guest curator for the museum’s season) as he captures the history and essence of Eatonville through his photography. This is a part of the artist’s longstanding work around the world where he has engaged “conversation” with people everywhere through his photos. His most recent “conversations” will be with the residents of the historic Eatonville community.
